Dream Homes

After stumbling across what I would consider to be my ideal home (someday) while on a walk the other night, I began scheming. Just how long will it take to achieve this (multi-level, mud-room having, secret garden-esque expanse of a backyard) abode?

This particular gem, on Canterbury Ave, in Kensington is going for a cool 900K. It is perfect. All wood floors, front porch with more than enough room for a bistro table, a few chairs, and a bottle of Pinot. Ahhh...

In the meantime, I've found some images of homes that I definitely would not mind living in someday. A girl can dream, right?

Get me any one of the above, plus an acre or two, and I'll be a happy camper.

Good God, I'm a Pinner

After perusing Pinterest passively for weeks, I finally requested an account and now I am ADDICTED. Seriously, this thing is like Tumblr on steroids and filled with precisely my type of wonderful. I know I'm a bit tardy to the party, but follow me and you'll get a deeper insight on just how well I can waste an hour+ of time.

*This beautiful boy needs to be pinned ASAP.

So far, pretty people, lovely quotes, and pics of food are dominating.

P.S. Question to all you Pinners regarding Wedding Boards...Is it OK to have one of these if I'm not: A. A wedding planner B. Married or C. Engaged? I mean, all those beautiful pics & inspiration need to go SOMEWHERE for when the time comes, right? Too much or is this acceptable in Pin Land?

Happy Hump Day, all!

Paring Down the Closet

Mimi + Meg always has the best, and I mean THE BEST, informative how-to's, calendars, & designs up on their blog and this post was no different. Love the color and the no-nonsense guide to paring down one's closet. Keep, Sell, Donate, or Toss made simple.

Getting organized (not psycho organized- let's be real here), and having a place for everything is one of my goals for the New Year. Let's do this!

Note: Print and have next to you while rummaging for your quick reference guide :)

New Year, New Name (& Look!)

Since we now have Adobe Fireworks (!), I decided to get a little fancy pants creative this morning and make my own images. Using pics from Pinterest, I made a header showcasing things "Olive" right now, January 2nd. When the urge strikes, or when it's February and time to throw a little red & pink in the mix, I'll switch it up. Yipeee! So proud of myself for learning how to do this and not pull (all of) my hair out.

What's new:
-The name has changed from "Olive Ewe" to "Olive That.". Many people just didn't get the "Ewe" part, so I'm making it easier. Hopefully (?).

What's not new:
-Still blogging about things I love: recipes, style, life, etc.

Lindsay's start to 2012, put simply:
1. Still looking for that new job. So excited about some of the prospects out there, and really looking forward to embarking on a new chapter.
2. Loving life in Kensington- great neighbs, awesome wood-floored apartment that Ross and I still drool over, and especially Kensington Cafe (I think I need to buy stock in the joint).
3. Amazing family, wonderful partner in crime= life's pretty darn good.

Anyone have any good New Year's resolutions? My only one so far: wear more red lipstick (MAC Russian Red...Perfection.)

May everyone enjoy their first days of twenty twelve!
